The 10 questions for exercise IMP166 are based on information presented in the article, "What Failing Implants Reveal About Peri-implantitis," by Sausha Toghranegar, DMD, MS, on pages 18-20. This exercise was developed by members of the AGD editorial team.

Reading the article and successfully completing the exercise will enable you to:
1. identify the causes of peri-implantitis, including bacterial, prosthetic, mechanical and patient-related risk factors that contribute to implant failure;
2. recognize early clinical and radiographic signs of implant failure and apply a systematic approach to diagnosis and treatment planning; and
3. differentiate treatment strategies for peri-implant disease, including when to pursue debridement, surgical intervention or explantation.
